DATADOG EDGE COMPUTING OBSERVABILITY (2023-PRESENT)
I currently lead a Datadog engineering team building tools to enable observability for edge computing PaaS and FaaS providers.
DATADOG SERVERLESS OBSERVABILITY (2019-2023)
Between 2019 and 2024 I worked on Datadog's serverless observability product. During this time I led development of the first version of the Serverless App frontend and backend, worked on Datadog's open-source Lambda Libraries, and built backend systems that power the observability experience. I also led development a library of reusable components and functions to accelerate development of similar UI experiences and improved loading time 10x for our largest customers.
DATADOG CLOUD OBSERVABILITY (2017-2019)
From 2017 to 2019 I worked on several aspects of the platform that powers Datadog's integrations with AWS, GCP, and Azure. My team's systems concurrently executed thousands of tasks 24/7 to retrieve and ingest live customer observability data with minimal latency.
In this time I led development of a reusable component that reduced ingest latency 20x for the largest-scale customers by maximizing utilization of the rate limit provided by cloud provider APIs among concurrent tasks.
RENCI PROTEIN RELATIONSHIP VISUALIZATION (2016-2017)
This protein relationship visualization (dead link) is part of a project I worked on at RENCI with Dr. Charles P. Schmitt to create word2vec models from academic journal articles to analyze and visualize changes over time in the scientific community's understanding of relationship strength between 700 kinases and the tumor-related protein TP53.
UNC COMP 110 SPECIAL SOFTWARE UNIT (2016-2017)
While a TA for UNC's COMP 110 course working with Professor Kris Jordan, I developed UI components to power assignments, assisted with development of course assignment code scaffolding, and built custom features for the course website.

CLEAN GOOGLE CALENDAR (2017)
Clean Google Calendar is a Chrome app that redesigns Google Calendar into a more user-friendly interface for use on the desktop. It has about 20k weekly active users and Lifehacker wrote some nice things about it.
THE LEGIONIZER (2017)
The Legionizer is a webapp that lets you put your own names and titles into the Legion TV credits and share them with friends. The AV Club wrote a nice article about it but I sadly lost the domain and it has been taken over.
THE FLAVORTOWN EXPRESS (2017)
The Flavortown Express is one of the highest-rated Guy Fieri-inspired Chrome extensions on the market (7 five-star reviews).
